Yea I've driven a car without a filter rly quick just to see how it ran before an I felt that the car bogged a lot compared to wen i put the intake on it. People these days. Thinking stock ls's with no intake is fast. smh.

you need a filter cus no matter how much air your getting it will still have dust and shit.. and particles of shit..

and your little ls or gsr or b16 or even a fucking k20 cant max out a flow of a fucking filter..

its like idiots who get aftermarket intake manifolds on stock heads and wonder why they got bearly anything out of it..

and if you don't know.. its cus your valves can only allow so much air and that all your intakes and shit dont do shit once you max the head flow out.. which is most the time with a simple little filter.. granted you may gain alittle.. but to gain anything worth spending money on you better dig deeper and get a os valves and shit..

put a filter on your damn intake and route if far away from your engine as possible..
gain what you can from that and enjoy cus you need more then some screen and a hose clamp to gain anymore

the runinng on an open throttle body allows more air in to the motor with less resistance your flow alot more air then an intake with a filter. your vtec cracks harder car acelerates fast and has a better throtle response and sounds a lot sicker downfall you kill gas lol but who cars 20 bucks equals full tank

H2B's especially need the hood propped for clearance. also, it lowers coolant temperatures, since the air from the engine bay has somewhere to escape. I did it on my talon when i was having cooling problems, and noticed 15* lower temperatures, since you're "breaking the seal" on the hood, the hot air has a way to escape.

well said and im jsut gonna add a little more about hood lifts it doesnt make your car faster but it helps ventilate the air in the engien bay so its not trapped in there and also so when the airs coming in it doesnt hit the firewall and gets trapped it has somewhere to escape

1st off ma car isnt stock ls newayz lolz high compression baby... but doing this did make a difference, im not just some newbee mothafuckaz i actually know wat tha fuck i am doing... doing this gained a lil horsepower, not nothing crazy but there is definately a gain.. it also increased tha throttle response.. and all yall haters and knowitallz... FUCK YOU SUCK MY PINGA.. lik b4 1 niggas actually had tha nerves to say that a lighter flywheel doesnt give you shit but make it easier to get up hillz... A real intake actually increases the velocity of the air traveling into the intake manifold due to scavenging.
