  • Beaks Bar/ASR subframe brace

Just Curious, how many of you that own one of them actually use a sway bar?

Beaks Bars are useless, and Subframe braces are supposed to just that.... Brace your subframe from the added stress of an oversized sway bar., so that it doesn't cause subframe tearout.

Everywhere I go I see subframe braces and then some have beaks bars as well....With NO rear sway. is there a misconception that these parts do something without the thing that they were build to aid?

I installed my ASR and couldn't put my ITR 22mm Rear sway on because I was waiting on my Bushings and I felt like a tool when driving around equivalent to people with intercoolers and no turbo.

    /End Rant

I'm just curious for others input.

I think the same thing. Someone put a pic on Facebook today asking how his rear setup looked. (eBay subframe brace, eBay controls arms and benen tie bar. About 30 ppl commented on it and not one person mentioned the fact of him not having a sway bar and it being pointless. Everyone does it for looks. They don't even understand the concept of how any suspension parts work.

Whats even more troubling is that an OEM ITR sway is only $90 from Acura and uses the factory end links. Energy Suspension makes the Bushings and D brackets for $15 shipped.

So.. ~ $110 and you actually get some benefits from the setup which is cheaper than an unnecessary Beaks Bar

^^^ this most people don't understand how half the things on their cars are designed to work. Which is a big reason why I think u can find so many hacked up cars.

Civic for sale threads are literally the only instance where someone has a car with coilovers installed on half the car.

The point of having any subframe brace on non ITR/CTR cars because the subframes aren't as beefy as the R's. Yes it serves a purpose for better handling when installing a bigger rear sway bar. A lot of people go for looks without the sway bar, to me which i find pointless. I paid $50 for a 22mm ITR rear sway bar with endlinks, brackets and bushings years back. If you really want to hug the corners, it's better to have the bigger sway bar.
