  • Brake problem.

I'll just let you all know now I know absolutely nothing about cars so hopefully this makes sense and someone can tell me what wrong. I have an old 1989 Chevy Blazer sitting in my yard. I wasn't started up for about three years so I jump started it and test drove it down my street. Everything seemed fine and then once I got back to my drive way the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I noticed as I was pumping on the brakes that there was smoke coming from the engine so I opened the hood and noticed some type of liquid was squirting out. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how much it would cost to fix?

check the brake lines the come out of the master cylinder( thing were you add brake fluid that has two lines coming out) the line is probably rotted were it is clamped to the frame near the exhaust manifold its probably squirting onto that. thats why there was smoke.
