Inspection Question

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a little problem. A couple of weeks ago I got pulled over for no reason. (driving the speed limit, seatbelt on, just driving normal) He ended giving me a warning on my plate cover which is clear plastic not a tinted one. He said I had to bring my car to the dmv to show I took the cover off. So yesterday I brought my car with the cover off to the DMV in Hamden. As soon as I pulled into the inspection building, the inspector told me my tints were illegal and had to come off. I bought my 2009 Civic Si w/ the tints from a Chevy dealer and aren't dark at all. So he gave me a tint ticket and no front plate ticket which totaled $263. On top of that I have to go back to inspection.

Can I get my car inspected any where else besides the dmv? And is there a tint shop that can verify my tints being legal? I think it was totally unnecessary to give me a ticket. Any thoughts or suggestions Ctv??

the inspector should have put a glass and a flash light around your window flash light inside the car and the glass next to it to measure the light going through your window

Tints are only illegal if you can't see your license information through the tint if you're holding your license up against the glass. If you can read all of the information than the tints are still legal.

Of he put a meter on the window and still wrote you a ticket then your tints are illegal. He wouldnt have wrote you a ticket otherwise.

does it look like a little hand held device and the window goes between it? if so thats a tint reader it says what percent your tint is and if you pass or not so your fucked basically

If you look at my tints you would never even think of them being illegal, is there any place i could get my car inspected that might over look the tints?

the warning i got from the cop was only for a plate cover which i removed, i didnt think i would walk out of there with a fuckin ticket and a re-inspection

if my tint is illegal basically every car with a tint is illegal because every car i see around town is dark as fuckkk so the law is bull shit
