$200 fine for taking my car insurance off?!?!

Back in January, I removed my insurance from my Lex cuz the engine blew and it wasnt gonna b on the road for a while. Now i get a letter from the dmv saying i have to pay $200 to get the insurance updated and avoid suspension!! anyone else deal with this BS before? any way to get out of it? i thought i was smart takin off the insurance to save $$ and now dmv wants $200!! WTF!!

Yea they only give u like 2 weeks or a month i think wit out insurance b4 u get a ticket, cuz they want ppl to return plates that dont have insurance

that happened to me before i think your just need to go hand in your plates before a certain date that is stated on the paper then you will get fined

I just had to pay that to register my car cause I didn't have insurance for one of my cars and yea they want you to return the plates and you got 14 days after you drop your insurance to return them and you can't get out of the fee at all

nah, you gotta pay it. my boy got it dropped to $100 cuz he was in military. But i dnt think their is a way around it. If their is pm me n let me kno lol. Cuz i kno they gonna hit me with that too.

na bro theres nothing you can do except pay the fine i had the same prob cause they say if you drop your insur you have to turn in your plates to the dmv so if you ever have to drop your insur again take your plates to the dmv and have them put your plates on hold then when your ready to put insur back on you can get your plates back and you only a 25.00 hold fee

Damn that sux. I guess ill suck it up this week and pay up as my ride should b back on the road by the end od week. It was still cheaper to cance the insurance anyway for 5 months!

insurance compliance I had it on 2 cars. No way around it you have to pay or you can't register shit ever again. you cant fight it in court either
