me and a friend were tlking about what wld be some minor things tht can be done to achieve some more HP on a sohc... what do you guys think would be some things to get done???

Motor: d16y7 block with a y8 head with intake,headers, and full exhaust

tune it-$500
blox cam stage 2-$250
intake mani obx -$125

dont come with smart replys of buy a b,k,h series, tht is not what is wanted here and also no turbo

build it on a budget is esy do a stroker to it make it a 1.7 with some head work a cam and a good tune. if you go on d-series.org and read up on the how to it is pretty easy and cheap to do.

you will need to find a d17 out of the 01 up civic and put the crank rods and pistions and oil pump from it. and then get some higher compression pistion some ZC or p29 ones and then get a mild head work and a nice delta or bis cam with and nice sk2 intake or even ITB's even make you own iTB's there is a write up on that to andget it tuned and have fun

yea but just tuning a bone stock d16 is stupid .. boost it or dont waste ur time itz still gonna be slow if u dont boost , spray it ..

just cam n a tune = fail to single
