  • Ls Vtec build help!!!

What's up ctv...I started getting all my parts for my lsv build (ls block &b16 head) soo for I got Crank & rod barings, pistorn rings, all the seals, gsr oil pump, b16timing belt kit w/ water pump, b16 arp head studs, all the seals!! On the way I got a golden eagle lsv kit!
I looked all over forums for the past couple days and found some good stuff but one person says that's the way to do it and the other person say noo that's not rite soo idk what to belive!!
I pretty much need to talk to a person that did a succesful lsv build to tell me how they did it and what needs to get done so it won't give me problems!!

    Thanks alot

Ls rods are weak and the pistons arent so great either, deff consider upgrading those.

i used a GsR gates timing belt kit for my b20 vtec, i had the factory vtec oil port in the head capped off from the machined side by the machine shop. Ur not going to need it cuz u'll be running an aux oil line to the head, but use the taper'd dowels for the proper mating. I used a cometic head gasket that is made for the swap (Some ppl dont like them but whatever) Make sure the arp bolts are all the way down in the block!! they should not wiggle! They should be end up relativly the same length when there all the way in. Chase the threads first!! and use the lube they come with. Dont be scared to use an allen to install them.. just dont crank them down hard.follow the directions that come with the arp studs as far as tq'ing. Im not sure if the b16 items are the same as the gsr as far as size, so go to a local parts store like auto zone and line each item up side by side to see if they are the same size. I kno u have to stick with vtec equipment tho. The cam gears are the same size tho b16a and b18c
