car ran fine all day today..parked it started up as soon a i tapped the gas shit sounded like ..has no power and dies unless im on the gas. any sugestions?? bent valve? sounds like somethings shooting around. is that as easy as swapping out heads givin that the pistons and cyl walls are still ok? if so whos got a head for a 94 ls block

would that make it sound that way? i never had this problem before so bare with me on it..i just did the timing about 1 month ago got a new tensioner.. i kno its the top end i had it idling and listened to it..but when it comes to internals im just starting. i need to do the head gasket as it is so is there anything i should look for while its apart

you problly bent a valve when the timming jumped thats why you hear it on top

You don't need to take the head apart. You can try doing a leak down test and diagnostics first to save yourself time and possibly pointless work. It does sound like you may have bent a valve, but it could be something like a fouled plug also. Check to see if there is slack in your timing belt.

that noise could be a lot of things... take a video of it and post it and we could diagnose it better. it could be something as simple as a valve adjustment or it could be something serious!
