            You can just go to RadioShack and buy a piezoelectric inducer for $2 (they'll know what you're talking about just ask an employee) and strap it to your engine or tranny somewhere with welding rod or paper clips. Then just wire it into the harness for the knock sensor and your check engine light will go off. I did it on my B18C swap in my civic and it worked like a charm for 2 years till I got hit... Or you can waste money on a real sensor

                Its only a hack job if it looks like shit. Its pretty damn easy to find a place to put it where you won't see it, but to his their own. Its a well known trick that works flawlessly but I understand it might be too much work for most people now days. Everyone looking for the easy way to do things instead of being innovative

                  The easy way? How about looking for the right way. Sure wha you saying will work. And is a good idea if you need to do something right away and can't get a sensor at the time. But why not buy the correct sensor. But I understand the correct sensor may be too much for for you. Everyone's looking for the cheap way to do things.
