ebay turbo kits, also known as chinese turbo kits are actually really nice for the money. The reason for the turbo's to blow was because of the too much oil running into the seals causing it to blow.. But now they have created a restrictor on the oil feed line to keep the flow a minimum which will save your turbo from blowing. A good brand that sells restrictors is funtion7.. Another thing that people say they have problems with is the manifolds.. But to me, these manifolds are sorta of a hit or miss type of thing. Some people say they can last for a really long time and some say they snap welds or spider cracks on the piping. But you can help the manifold by welding a brace onto it to help support it from the vibration and keeping the turbo from jerking too much when you boost. Or you can go and do it the right way and buy a real named brand manifold or do a homemade manifold. Ether or, I find the chinese turbo's worth the money. I find the Bov, wastegate, charge pipes, intercooler, manual boost control and turbo to be a satisfying buy. You really cant go wrong for a cheap chinese kits..

It all depends on wat kind of power you wanna make! an ebay I/C for around 120bucks is perfect, get ur self a set of their I/C piping w/hose&clamps, Manifold? Ive seen 600whp on a cast iron manifold, thoes tubular stainless start kracking after good few beating, the turbos will last a while but u gotta restrict their oil feed with a -4an line and a flow restricotor fitting with an 0.065" size hole, even thoe their journal bearing Turbos. if ur doing ebay blow off valves do with 2 of them bad boys

you can def make a lot of horsepower on an ebay kit, but i will say that my tubular manifold cracked after only 2 months and i had bracing on the downpipe as well.
                theres no replacment for boost:)

my uncle has a gsr fully built hatch. hes runnin a XS power turbo.... thats rite... it even says XS power on the turbo. and hes been running 12psi daily with no problems. all tho, he did up grade the turbo manifold to a cast iron turbonetics. but that was it. i drove it with no problem... the only issue was that it was a small turbo and spooled at 3k... kinda late if u ask me. hes pushed it to 30psi couple of times and blew off the bov.

so there u have it.... hope it helped a little

Yes sir, everything is good! Just get a better manifold or weld a brace on it, and get a restrictor on the oil inlet for the oil feed line. And you will be golden.

I heard and seen a couple cracked manifold here and there, don't really have experience with many ebay kits. but one thing i won't do is put a 2step to them shits, or run no blow off valve.

Buddy ran 13psi for months on 1.8t swapped GTI before selling. $99 he paid
for a t3/t4 turbo. Ebay manifold I believe cracked several times. Cast is way to go
                            for daily abuse

If i were looking for a kit to run 7psi, i look for the ones with cast iron manifolds. no 2step on them turbos and you good, and if it ever blows, just go to a 240sx forum and get a T28 out of a kouki s14 sr20, they are ball bearing, rebuildables and go for about 300-375 all day long
