  • Turbo LS vs. Turbo LS/V-TEC

I have a little problem here. I have an LS in my DB1 right now but also have a B16 head that i bought. Now the debate is which head i should go with cuz ive heard that LS blocks can hold boost pretty good but the questions is what r the pros and cons of the different heads besides the obvious V-TEC option???

buddy its all about your pocket $$$$$ vtec head just flow a lot better than non-vtec its that simple... remenber a engine is just a air pump with more parts and the more air you move ....the better it works.

yeah definetly. Ive gotten a lot of feedback on what i should do. I've decided to go LS Vtec and im sending the block out probably to golden eagle to get sleeved, pistons and rods, and assembled since i'll be running a GT35r on decent boost. As far as the head goes, im going ITR or CTR cams to get the most efficency out of the turbo and a supertech valvetrain with some sort of aftermarket IM and hondata s300. Im lookin to make somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 hp on pump gas as a street/ocassional track car

LS / VTEC needs a Crank Girdle if you plan to rev the motor past the stock LS redline.

All the information you need is here.

or what you can do is get some nice port work on the head to make it flow alot better and just boost the LS. Plenty of people are making good power with LS's. But its really a matter or how much money you want to put in it.
