    which would you chose and why? assume they are both stock

    depends what kind of b16. cuz i would do a boosted ctr motor if i was you. but it all depends on the funds. lol

      isnt ctr comp kinda high for boost? keeping in mind that were talking about stock for stock.

        i think it like 11:1 but thats ok its all in the tune. but if ur trying to run high boost it would be a different story. but ctr with 6-8 psi would be good.

            well im an all motor guy but thats the best set up for boost i can think of. but im no boost genius. i could be wrong.

              your not wrong you could boost anything.......but thats a special motor in my opinion...to spend $3000+ on a motor and then boost 6-8psi its not worth it....you could do as good on a usdm b16 on 10-14 psi

                but depending on if this is his DD 10-14 psi just dosent seem to reliable.

                  its the same as boostin the ctr motor on 8psi.....couse of the compression
                  10psi its nothing for a helthy stock B series motor....i know people that run 15psi on stock motors....as long as you tune the car your good.....

                    very true pete but but you know me ill take a ls over a b16 anyday. b16 to me is nothing , well maybe its just me and i love torque and b16= no torque just a very happy high reving motor

                      yeah i like the ls i think they do pretty good stock. well in the end it's really what you want but it's good to hear everyones opinions plus the pros and cons on both motors. well g/l on your decision...

                        im speaking about a b16a2 usdm. and a b18b1 LS. i kidna want boost because its cheap horsepower that you dont have to really put much effort into except for maintainance

                          Mikey you already know my opinion . LS is nasty for torque and savign gas comapred to a B16 which has no torque so it takes more to get up there. B16 on 6psi is liek ised in my eyes making around the same power as an ls at 8-10 psi but the ls wouldb e more reliable!
