  • CTR with SPRAY

    u think it safe if i put ctr pistons in my ls and spray? is that a good combo? high compression-nitous? cause ima need a rebuild on my ls soon just to be safe and not worry about blowing something since i have 160k on the motor. thanks ctvtec.... lmk!!

        the higher the compression the safer to run more nitrous! If you can get 14:1 comp pistons and a 125 show wet. Your safe no problem.

                  ...and blow sh!t up while you at it. But seriously Nitrous does like high compression but you have to know how to build the engine properly, and TUNE the car properly as well. Obviously a 13:1 ratio and a 120 shot without a tune isn't gonna last long, if at all. Anyways..do some research. Asking for opinions isn't going to get you anywhere. First of all, CTR pistons dont fit LS rods without some modification, thats why I recommended the P30s. FYI I recommend telling us your power goals, and how you plan on using the car; whether daily driver or just a weekend whip. Helps when you are looking for assistance motor wise.

                    from wat i heard, people say not to tune the car when my motor is spraying. i didnt see a reason why not... so i should just stick with a b16A piston? not the b16b? i just want some serious power. i dont mind using 93 octane but dont want to go over 13:1 compression. ive seen some all motor cars with 300hp on the wheels with 18:1 compression, but of course on race gas...

                    this motor is a daily driver for me. i just want good power with wat i already have, and some nitrous for back up. im not really lookin for some head work just yet. at most, cam gears and an intake manifold. i take the car out and race every other weekend or so.

                      Then go with p30's. But a tune is a must! Then the tuner can add more fuel and do the ignition maps set for nitrous. 13:1 on nitrous for you prolly wont last the first time you spray. I like all motor personally but am debating on getting spray for that extra power. But in your situation i'd just start building your motor first. Might as well build the head since you have to pull it off to put pistons in!
