  • B18b block build suggestions.

Im in the process of building a ef hatch with a b18b and running 20 or so lbs of boost. Im wondering what piston rod setup you guys would suggest? What is everyone else running and pros and cons on the setup?

Its not about how much boost...its about how much power you want to make. An oem headgasket is best cometics are junk

Vitara is for a single cam bud.

For a rod piston combo go with eagle or manley turbo tuff rods. They hold up great and are relatively cheap. For pistons i stick to wiseco or cp because they are well known and very reliable but there are hundreds of companies out there.

Oem head gasket, ARP throughout the whole build and use king or ACL bearings. Bring the block to a machine shop and get it line honed and check all of the clearances so that you dont get any crank walk/burnt bearing issues.

Im definitely getting the eagle rods. But there are so many pistons to choose from.

I heard that i should use oem bearings. Ive heard it both ways though.

CP is the best by far.. Pauter rods or manley turbo tuff rods, eagle arent that great. Other then that ARP headbolts as everyone else stated oem head gasket is fine

I've never heard pauter rods... But I'm only planning on 350 and possibly work my way up to 450.

Cometic head gaskets are junk. OEM Honda is the only way to go.
