  • Precision Turbo ???'s 6265 OIL LEAK...ugh

hey guys.. got my car running.. yahhh..

742 miles on new motor and the turbo blew a seal..figures i was just going to dyno her .. trying to stay positive.. kinda happy turbo gotta come out.. need to wrap DP and manifold having temp issues like to clime up to 220-225 since i put bumper on.. lol also want to run EGT/pyro meter along with relocate wideban sensor...soback to my turbo conundrum

    turbo info/setup-
    t4 6265sp vband .81a/r

3 an feed no restrictor (was told by PTE not to run one, but i hurd to use a .30)

    10 an drain

bought the custom kit with about 2 seasons on it. an it was fine... so questions....

--send out to PTE for rebuild worth it?

---if i get new 626x turbo what spool will i see from going from my T4 6265sp .81 to say a t4 6262sp .68.. also noticed they have a .58 is that a T4 housing.. LAG is ok to me .. but if it come a lil sooner like 500 or 800 rpms that would be COOL..lol

---if i send out and get rebuilt and say it fails again...(hurd and read many storys about this) then it would been worth getting a new one.. i can get a new one for 850..

will my sp housing from my 6265 bolt on to a 6262 i have a 90 deg and dont wanta pay the $$ to have a new one re welded..

i love the way this turbo is.. im running only 5psi and traction is great..lag is good for traction.,lol . so when i turn up to 10psi (or where ever i hit my stock bsleeve safe limit 450ish) my boost by gear will be nice..

    thanks in advANECE.. ..

I'd have to say no restrictor caused it.

Most likely too late. Are you getting oil out of your exhaust? Or out of the intake side?

My buddy had the same issue and I had the car in my garage and just put the resrtictor and a new 3an line and it stopped the huffing pretty much.

did you buy the 6265 new? if so call them up cuz precision has a 1 year warranty on their turbos...

also for a 4cyl... 6262 is best for a street car with a t3 .82 or t4 .68 (about the same size)... 6265 if the car is a race car and will see minimum of 25 or more psi

                    goodluck
no vtec here... pwrd by VeeReihenmotor ...turbo :D
