  • passing emissions on crome

    hey ctv so im kinda wantn to go with crome now for the cost cuz im antsy to get this turbo in before the summer but i know ima have to pass emissions in october lol.. I have a 96 ex im boostin the single y8 and i just want to know how you guys get by emissions or whats the best way to do it without gettin another car that looks like myn lol

      my buddys gotta turbo mazda 323 that he took to emissions and he had the guy do a 5th gear 25mph roll and it passed lol

          no obd2 cars will not pass on crome. so save all stock parts and switch or go threw emissions first and got 2 years before you go again. JDM ecu wont pass either because they wont read the plug that you have to plug in. there are ways to wire up the crank sensor to the cam sensor so you can get rid of the check engine light and pass on a stock ecu

              U need to run it stock ecu and injectors no CEL and o2 hooked up

                what these guys said ^. Crome is obd1. Your car is obd2a. So you would have to run obd2a to obd1 jumper harness with an obd1 ecu running on crome. If your car is running obd1 it's an automatic failure because your ecu/ data port or w/e it's called can't comunicate.

                    you cant pass emission on any obd2 car unless you ave a stock ECU leave the turbo set up on the car put stock injectos back in stock ecu back in and drive it to emissions. very easy to do we have to do it to my buddys em1 all the time.

                      if you have hondata it will make it pass easier just goot upload a passing map.. if not you have to do what "CTGOLDHATCH" said and hope it passes.. im a inspectore ive passed plenny of cars but they always updating obd software ... older cars are nothing its just obd2 cars...

                        s300 just seems eisier the only hard part is the price lol i can have crome in and tune for like 350 but then s300 comes out to be around 850 with tune its gonna be my dd i just dont wanna blow anything and have a real nice tune

                          i think there was someone on here about a tech and an emission place if you paid him 50$ under the table and the emission fee he get you to pass,but im unsure who this person was.

                            do it for free then take off a charge pipe or the bov so you would see boost or much in the motor put a stock ecu in it and a stock set of injectors and drive it to emissions as long as the cel is not on you will pass and then you can simpley bolt the other parts back on and be back turbo all in a day so easy

                              thank you everyone for the imput and ctgoldhatch and accord9483 that will definetly help so since im gonna go crome the steps i take are take off my 0bd2 to obd1 conversion harness with my obd1 ecu put my stock obd2 ecu back in switch back injectors and im good to go
