  • Turbo?

Okay, so im thinking about doing a decent boost setup on my EJ1 this winter.. It has a B18B1 in it with stock internals.. I would be getting an A/R .63 turbo with a 3" cold side and 2.5" hot side, 450cc injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, FPR, and a 2.5" turbo back vibrant exhaust system with testpipe and get it tuned.. Looking to make around 240whp on like 8-10psi..

I guess im just looking for any suggestions on what im going to do if anyone has any input it would be appreciated..

Not really a low budget build just not trying to spend an arm and leg on a honda because it isnt really worth it im saving up for a house and dont wanna cut into that money for something that isnt going to make me my money back.. So no need to go into crazy expensive setups, just trying to have a nice reliable setup..

Your ecu is fine. Just get a good tune. i had that motor boosted and didn't have a problem. But im not sure how the flow rate is on vibrant mufflers. But that may restrict it. But I dnt think you'll hit 240. You'll need more boost or a bigger turbo. Is .63 your exhaust a/r or intake?

and 12 psi is not safe on a stock block imo

even that is straight though, even if i have to push 12psi to get a little more out of it idc its only an ls lol..

idk how the flow rate is either but i guess im going to find out huh? lol and the .63 is the intake i believe ill double check though im getting a nice setup from emotorsusa im getting a good deal so i can't really complain and the kid im going through has ran reliable turbo setups for over a year from them so im going to give them a try..

I've heard that they are decent. But if your intake a/r is .63 then your exhaust is prolly like .50. WHich is pretty small. So you'll spool up quick but will need to run a lot of boost to hit your goals. If I was you. i'd get Arp head studs, New Oil Pump, Arp Rod Bolts, ACL Bearings and call it a day.

Yeah, like i said though im going to double check on which side is the .63 but since its going to be a winter project i might as well do the studs, bolts, oil pump, and bearings while im at it i got 3 months of snow lmao so why not

good info given...but op, i would go with 3inch exhaust and 440 and 1000 precision injectors are the same price so why not go with the 1k with a walbro and not worry about fuel at any rpm. And ls/vtec, I wondered the same thing about the vibrant and i did some research and they do actually flow very good.

And there are plenty of ppl running 12 plus lbs on stock blocks/motors...it just depends on your other supporting mods. like ls/vtec said i would DEF get arp head studs, solid mounts, and a tune is a must!! lol I personally love hondata; you get the option of boost by gear, its the best for turbo(besides aem), waaaay more capabilities, and you can have 2step by retarding the timing instead of fuel cut.
