  • changed turbo mani and now less boost

so i finally got my car back together after my mishap at the track and i swapped out my p.o.s 60 dollar special turbo mani for a brand new blurr mani and now my car is making only 4psi when i should be making at least 7 psi. now, the wastegate is positioned in a much more straight out direction on my new mani than it was on the ebay mani. would the position of the wastgate change my boost level because im running off straight wastegate, no boost controller. sory 4 tha long post but this shit is pissing me off..
    theres no replacment for boost:)

    yes.

the old one was allowing boost creep the new one is actuly biult to prevent that.

so i should be able to hook up an in line (pinch valve) boost controller on the wastegate signal hose and adjust it back to 7psi correct?

i hooked up the boost controller and now when it gets to 7 psi the boost gauge bounces like im hitting rev limiter...,,?

sounds like you got a 4psi spring in the gate. manual boost controllers are only supposed to increase boost to double the spring pressure, after that it gets inaccurate and wont hold steady. if youre gonna run 7 psi i would get a 7psi spring and say ************ the boost controller.

try hooking your gauge to a diff vacuum source. ive had gauges flutter because of being tee'd with something that bleeds boost off.

gauge is hooked directly to a port on the intake,, and the spring was supposed to be a 7 psi spring...which was making 7.7 psi on the other mani... so when i retune imma want to change the spring out again 4 a bigger one?? or would using the controller be ok for like 12 psi without it...just saying cuz the spring in there making 4 psi is a 7 psi spring

check for exhuast leaks, exhuast leaks = less boost. you can use a boost controller to bring your boost pressure up a bit or just use a bigger spring.

nope no leaks just the different manifold, so i hooked up the controller and all the power is back
