  • extended wheel stud install

Hey guys i got some extended wheel studs for my 99 si and i have never replaced them before, and ive done some reading and some websites say i have to remove the hub and therefore replace the wheel bearing just to get the extended stud to fit in the hole, but thats going to be a pain in the ass so anyone with a good diy or advice would really help. thanks

front and rear. plan on running spacers and need the extra length from the studs. and i feel like removing the hub is way bigger of a job than i wanna do lol.

My cuz did mine. All he did was take the hub off. And take the thing that holds the studs off and he hammered out the old studs and hummered in the new ones. It was pretty simple but at the time kinda difficult. I don't know about that stuff.

U heard right. U have to take the hub out. It's easy but hard at the same time like he^ said. Because you can damage your bearings easly and u might have to buy new ones. The grinding down a bit trick onLy works on 96-98 non ex hubs as far as ek goes

the only problem with removing the inner hub from the knuckle is that sometimes the inner race of the wheel bearing stays on the hub, destroying the bearing.

But it prolly wouldnt be a bad idea to replace the wheel bearings anyways.
