not yet, once it gets warm, and we are going to probably attempt using a 5 speed but we have to make a custom linkage...any ideas on the linkage??

**the engine is going to be facing forward, but behind the seat..

yeah basically as if you moved the seat in front of the engine as it sits in the car, so the linkage needs to pass under the engine then come up and make a 90 degree turn into the back of the tranny so it'd be in a "stock" position, then when shifting it would be just like normal H pattern.

i have a built sandrail here at my house, full VW set up with what they called a pancake vw bus motor in it, the problem with putting a 1.5 or something in is its liquid cooled, all those old VW motors were Air cooled which is why they use them for the dune buggy's, with liquid cooled you'll just have to put a radiator up top or something just watch for low branches and shit, if you want i can post up some pics of our buggy. and yeah all those older VW have shift linkages but since the motors were designed to be in the back the linkage goes right into the "front" of the motor.

this is basically what ours looks like:

and this one is 500HP boosted NSX lol

yeah...thats what we are going for in ours...there are some quad trails locally and thats pretty much what we are looking to do in ours...the radiator is prolly going to be in the front along with the battery....we are thinking about some pvc piping or steel piping to cover the hoses from rocks n shit....definitley some close up pics of the linkage and mount set-up just to get some ideas...that would be appreciated a lot...
