  • Wiring issue...

So after countless hours Looking for the problem to why my brake lights werent working, i noticed my Fuse number 41 ( on the underhood fusebox) was blown, the fuse says battery on it, but i guess its for power distribution, according to the fuse box diagram on honda-tech.

Needless to say i went out and bought a new fuse at the local junkyard, installed it in my car and blew right away. now my question is, couldve had blown because i didnt disconnect my battery prior to switching out the fuse? or maybe the Alarm couldve caused that mishap? im going out to buy another fuse now, but im wondering if i have a short sumwhere, and can this fuse being blown can cause the brake lights and hazzard lights from working.

Putting the fuse in with the battery connected is probably why the new one blew. Disconnect the positive when you put this new one in and see if it doesn't blow again. If it was blown and wasn't carrying a current then its possible that some things might not have worked. Because they might not have anything to draw the power from externally if it was primarily through that fuse.
