alright ive dealt with this and still have a faint odor but mist likely this is what your dealing with. If you have no leaks etc most like it is your charcoal canister. It is a black cansiter mounted to the firewall and has a few tubes mounted to it. When you over fill your tank sometimes a little liquid may make it through the vent tube from the tank to the canister. The charcoal inside the canister is meant to absorb gas fumes. If liquid makes it there it will take MONTHS to air out. If you unhook it and put your nose to the bottom spout and it STINKS BAD like RAW fuel then thats your issue. I completely took mine out and still sometimes get a faint raw fuel smell espcially when im low on fuel. When i removed the canster the vent hose still remains. Ive yet to research on what to do with it as i imagine your probally need it. Mines just chillin open ended. its NOWHERES near as bad.

also what helps is to make sure any open holes in your firewall ac,cruise control etc are completely plugged. Fumes will make there way from the bay through your firewall and inside that cabin

Well u can't block the air hole where the wipers r at lol so ur best bet is to just unhook the ruler pipe leading from ur gas tank to ur open end fuel line u can always put it back

what u mean the wipes? i didnt say by the wipers? so you say to remove the entire line from the fuel tank to where its at in the bay. Its a metal line all the way down the body right? only like the last 6 inches r rubber where it hooks to the canister

Yes but Idk if u have ever read on any other site "how to" delete a charcole canister most just cut the pipe out now I cut mine lower but I can still put a little rubber hose if I want to put it back to stock to sell another reason for the canister is to purge the tank which can keep the tank from building to much pressure if u just leave the line open end that far away from the tank can be bad because ur restricting the air now if u leave the rubber hose off it freely flows no high pressures nd no fuel smell (its all behind u)

you can eliminate the charcoal canister and re-route the tank vent to the rear of the car.

my 4 door was running rich when i had my ls in it i figured out that MY CAR has a map sensor on the firewall AS WELL as on the throttle body... all i did was switch them and BOOM no more gas smell and WAYYY BETTER gas mileage
