auto ecu in manual

dumbest question ever but what happens if I use a p28 auto ecu in my 5spd civic? if I can't I've heard of people modding auto ecus so if anyone can do that that'd be cool.

I did it temporary and it ran fine but it had the check engine light on

make the ecu manual look it up you might have to desoter and jump circuit something like that but i myself have one and i was looking in the computer and i came across this info good luck
