ground strap toast

so i go to start my daily today, parked it last night no problems,, and not to mention i drive this car evry dayy nd even drive it to new hampshier drag race, then drive home,,,nd it lost all power instantly when i hit the key to start it and smoke poured outta the hood by my battery and the ground cable cut itself free from the battery glowing red,, and the power wire to the starter was melted a little nd looked burnt as if it touched the starter,, im changing evrything ne ground cables nd startor cable nd trying it agin,,just wondering if anyone has seen this b4
