The temperature gauge was working fine on my old 97 ranger until recently, it just stays on H. It hasn't been full on driven since like October because i owned it then got the 4dr and gave the truck to my grandpa as a beater. He would start it and let it run more than once a week because we didnt have the title from the dmv to register it yet, and he wanted to make sure it still worked. It still drives, he drove it today but the gauge just stays on H. Still has all coolant in, no leaks, and runs fine.
Guessing its just the gauge not workin properly, any help?

Change the gauge or take out the whole cluster to see if you have any loose plugs or wires..
