92 hatch-hatch will not open

i just got a 92 cx hatch and tried to pop the hatch and it wont open. i pulled the poper and it goes up and everything. but there is alot of slack in the cable so i disconected it and pulled it with pliars and it still wont open. is there anyother way i can open it? i tried the lock on the hatch itself but i dont think its the stock hatch so the key wont work.

If the bottom piece won't open then the bar that pulls the lever to open it is most likely detached pry the blastic piece behind the hatch off and check to make sure that happened with my si. Bubble I had

use a hanger(metal) and snake it thru the trunk,just above the bumper towards the left side.u will be able to grab the cable and pull it out towards u..pull it towards the left and it will open..or your sencond choice would be like mantyme said
