lol, use the oem honda tranny fluid that would be the best, but i think castrol 1040 is good too my girls hatch was popping out of 5th and grinding some other gears and after putting that in it runs mint!

BG synchro shift II works wonders on trannies with 3rd gear grinds.

otherwise GM synchromesh or OEM honda.

motor oil is half ass, even though it works.

When I worked in Groton at Honda Synchromesh was actually in a TSB for new SI's with transmission grinds. I used it in my Hondas.

As for water in the radiator it's fine since the system pressurizes about 15psi which raises the boiling point to over 250* which your engine should never see ;). Although purging the system with the radiator cap off can cause some overheating problems because the water will boil and evaporate quickly and often cause an air pocket at the fanswitch.
                    Turbo 86' 325i, 20psi of Megasquirt lovin'.

That is not true! Honda never would recommend using any fluid other than there own, & would especially not recommend putting friction based lubricant in there tranny's.

I currently work at Honda, have been for 8+yrs, I have followed the bulletin your are explaning to repair the 3rd gear in numerous 06+ Si's, & I can promise you, no where in the bulletin does it EVER say to install GM Syncromesh.

I dont know what bulletin you were reading, or what Honda dealer that would sell GM Syncromesh!
