  • HELP!! want to get alpine radio hooked up

    alright well i got a alpine 9845 headunit i just tried putting in my car, it powers on and all functions work except im not getting any sound out of the speakers,yes i checked all the wires, when i plug my stock cassette deck back in the sound out of the speakers is fine. if someone has some advice id apreciate it thanks

    What kinda car is it goin in and does your car have a built in amp if it does you will need power the built in amp with one of the extra wires on your harness lmk and i'll talk you through it lmk later bro..

      i got a 92 civic si hatch i dont think it has a built in amp

        92 civic si's do not have built in amps it seems the stereos out puts are bad meaning the internal amp of the radio is bad. Sorry bro
        My turbo is louder then yours!!!

          ok it seems like you have a problem i didnt know what car you tryed to put it in thats why i asked if it had a built in amp.. looks like you will need to just run it all off a amp and rca's bypass the radio outs thats it hopefully your rca's in your radio are good..

            well i know this radio workd, i had it in my other 95 hatchback and it worked fine which i took it out b4 i sold it. but maybe ur right either its a wire thats messed up not turning on the internal amp or maybe its just bad. ill have to play around with it somemore

              disconnect each speaker one at a time, see if you get any sound. alpine is more sensitive then your oem, the alpine will go into protect if it picks up a bad speaker, oem will keep playing.

                im gonna try this tomarrow, i think it might work, even with the stock headunit in my 2 back speakers aint workin for some reason, just the fronts are workin so im gonna disconnect the back speaker wires and see what happens

                    thanks Nhswap that was the problem, the rear speakers had bad ground, so its all workin now thanks again
