if you dont use 4 gears

    Either you only have 3

Or you need to make more power.

I know with dynopacks, you would wanna be in 4th to reduce tire spin.

We tuned our car in 4th on the packs tho. I dont have a reason why tho.

I thought tuning was done in 3rd gear because of A/F ratios i maybe wrong tho

Most Hondas are tuned in 3rd because the lack of power on 4th. For example. A b16 will make 144 hp and 109 torque in 3rd. But in 4 the gear ratio changes and the hp is lower, 134hp and 100 torque. So nobody like to give low numbers so all Hondas use 3rd.
However, at 20 psi on at gt30 will make like 540 whp in 3rd and in 4th it will make 510whp.
Tuning in a higher gear give you more accuracy and more run time, the dyno is not as quick as that in 3rd.
            However I tuned a 335 BMW at 16psi and I had to use 5th because 5th was 1:1.
I tuned a 69 camaro with a ford rear and that was a 4.56 ratio because that was 1:1.
This is on a Dynapack 4000.
