I'ma try and make this short. My boy bought a turbod ek si and blew the motor. Apparently someone told him it was because his battery died and the chip reset causing his car to run lean.I told him it was because he beat the shit out of it.
Anyways he is almost done with his fully built motor (sleeved, eagle rods, wiseco pistons etc..) and he wanted to know if what he was told is true about the chips resetting. He is trying to push somewhere in the 400-500hp range. I told him to just sell it and get a hondata or aem ems.

What do you fellas think would be his best bang for the buck?

best bang for your buck is crome. but if he has a fully built motor i'd go top of the line then. And go with s300 or ems. I've had my battery die before and no problem with my chip as far as erasing my tune. Only way i've ever erased my tune was by using a chip burner and doing it. You need to find out who is tuning the car and talk to the tuner. They will tell you what the best software is to use.

The chip uses flash memory. It is not based on voltage (battery power).

I like CROME and I've NEVER heard of the data being cleared off the chip from the battery dying lol.

ive had chips loose there tunes, but usually the car wont run, and mine never lost a tune due to a dead battery, it would just happen.
