What ecu is best

i need help... i have a jdm type r motor i purchased and its currently running off a b16 computer.... can this damage the motor? and which ecu would be best..

also... when car is in first gear dead still sometimes itll just die and shut off and sometimes it idles to where it wont do that.. could the ecu be the problem??? hellllllllllp
