  • failed emissions ftl....anyone got a stock ecu?

Just failed my emissions test today. I have an lsv obd2 converted to obd1. They said I need a stock ecu. Does anyone have a stock ecu I can barrow for a single day. Just looking for a little help willing to throw a lil money on top so i can just pass this damn test.

bump cuz i failed today too but i need WAY more than just a us ecu. if youre using a jdm ecu, that means you would need to change to a us oil pump or repin the CYP sensor, you may have to add a 2nd 02 if you dont have one, vtec pressure switch, knock sensor, etc etc if you dont have those already. the jdm ecus, esp, chipped ones dont require a lot of these things to run with no CEL, where a us car does. in case u didnt know all thatt

getty or sunoco on boston ave in bridgeport. Tell them to roll it on the rollers. they dont turn anybody down. everbody passes never had a problem. do you have a fpregulator if so turn it down a little.

i dont see how thats going to help if the computer cant communicate with his ecu....its an automatic fail, unless they have some way around it

i thought it was a requirement to read the computer on an obd-2 vehicle....they wouldnt even test my car because they couldnt communicate with it, auto fail, didnt even test the actual emissions

This is correct. They scan it to make sure all of the emissions sensors are functioning, and they roll it to check emissions output.

Also, on a lot of obd2 ECU's (my old Accord for ex.) if your car is throwing a code, and you clear it, the ECU is going to store that code for a certain amount of time (approx. 100mi I think). So if you clear the code before your test, most likely it's still going to come up even with the light off and you'll fail.

I had this happen on my Accord. The primary O2 was bad, so I took it to autozone, cleared the code, went for the test and failed. Sucked.

ok, so now i must ask, is there a way around it? idk abt the OP, but in my case i need 2 o2 sensors, CYP rewired, vtec switch, knock and who knows what else. is there any way around this? is there a way to get a jdm ecu to read? or are they just not setup for the scan port? the port powers the scantool up but acts like its not connected...the only way i KNOW i can get past, is to spend 660.00 at a certifired emissions repair facility and bring the receipts to dmv and they will give me a waiver and i will be exempt from emissions on the car forever, which almost seems like a better idea, since i would never have to worry about passing again, of course i dont have that kind of money to drop to pass, so if anyone knows any secrets let me know
