  • Coilover help....

So a buddy of mine help me put on coilovers on my car. F&f type 1s. When I'm driving on a bump/rough road I can feel the hits on the rears only. I checked if all bolts are tight and they are. Saw if it was hitting anything and looks ok tires are fine as well. Anyone have an idea what it can be?

Are they new? How's the control arm and trailing arm bushings?

Yea they are brand new. And both bushings looked fine I might change both that's all I can think of to make sure if bushings were the problem

What's the spring rates? And do they have adjustable dampening?

sounds like the rear is set really stiff and the front is set really soft

I was thinking that as well going to take them out in the a.m and check everything out because the bushings have no rips and seem fine

its just the coilovers are really stiff its not your car i have the same set on my turbo coupe, had them on for about a year and they still do it, its just there real stiff and so when you hit a bump the tires come off the ground and the noise is the ass end landing back on the ground, me personally i like it cause on my boosted car it was better for launches and keep the front end down and not transfering all the weight to the rear, if it really bothers you just loosin up the spring tension so it will reduce the stiffness

hope i helped from my experience

My type 2's do the same. It's cuz they are stiff.

-_- sounds like this suspension set up sucks if what your saying is true. The last thing u want to happen while racing is ur ass to come off the ground in a turn...

mine never came off the ground in a turn, only car ive ever felt safe in doing 140+, car handled like a dream, id rather have stiff suspension then some soft ass ones that you try and go hard into a turn and you get crazy ass body roll
