I found a set of brand new lowering springs for a eg on craigslist for real cheap..I know they will fit and sit higher in my crx than if they were on an eg..but my question is does anyone have an idea on how much of a drop it would be on my car?

Are they a good name brand? If not I wouldn't bother...the car will sit high for sure. The springs are a bit taller on an eg and they are stiffer to support the extra weight of an eg vs crx. You could get them and cut a few coild till you have the height you want. You could also use the shocks if you swap on eg front forks but like ls/vtec said it will sit high, ef shocks are the shortest therefor imo best for droppin it.My work: Flikr.

If they are 2" drop springs you may get down 1.5" but it's a tough call because they are made for a car with longer suspension/springs so you may have them coil bind when you hit a bump. Not as bad as bottoming out but still it won't be rite. And also you may not get as much drop as you are looking for, you may not even get any drop. Maybe someone on ctv has some ef springs sittin around; IMO it will be better than gettin eg springs. My work: Flikr.

When you install them you should take pics so others will have a reference. I really don't think it would be a bad thing to cut one coil off the springs. The spring rate is going to be much higher than stock springs. Stock springs that are cut bounce all over the place usually due to having stock shocks (which end up being preloaded due to being 1/2 of the way through the bound portion of the shock so when the car is at static height with the cut springs the shocks are pushing to be at their natural center) and the shortened springs can not keep the car off the bump stops. But the springs may give you the drop you are looking to get. When are you going to put them on?My work: Flikr.
