  • Major Leaking in Del Sol, help!

Alright, so I have a '94 Del Sol, and as you guys know it has the removable top and all that. I make sure that when I put the top back on I seal it real well, but whenever it rains (like on Saturday night), I open my door to see my seats soaked and a puddle of water on my floor. I'm not quite sure where the issue is coming from, but any time I wash my car, I notice that the inside of the windows are wet.

I'm not sure if you guys with Del Sols have had the same issue as I have, but if you have any advice let me know.

    Good looking out.

Di-electric grease and silicone spray along the weather stripping. Its coming from the seals around the targa roof. Common problem on del sols. Can put both of that stuff along the weather stripping and it will help for a better seal. Gl

Won't Hurt to try another targa top. Thats usually the issue.you can have someone wet the car with a hose while u sit inside and see where its leaking from. Not enough water pressure to Leak in?no problem, just take it to a car wash that will allow you to drive your car in. Or just wait for one heavy rainy day.

That's more money to spend when he can just buy the silicone or spray that I mentioned. Spray it on a rag and pass it along the seals. The pressure wash would maybe tell you where its coming from but not a great idea because it will ruin the weatherstripping even more. Also don't close or open the door by grabbing on the glass, that will make it not line up with the targa and have a gap over a period of time if its done a lot. $4 in silicone > $100+ targa. The silicone will fluff up the seals a bit and prevent the leaking.

Or just put the Di-electric grease on a rag and pass it through the seals. That alone should work.

I never said pressure washer. What more damage wouLd a water hose or car wash cause? His targa top is probably already shot with ripped gaskets and shit. Might as well get a used but in good shape targa top and fix it the right way .

Car washes use pressure water. I think the first bet would be to try the silicone n grease. If not buy new seals & weather stripping. Or what you said to get a used targa maybe
