help with cleaning engine bay and painting!

so i got shell and took out the blown motor that was in it. im thinking this is a perfect opportunity for me to clean the engine bay and maybe re paint it. i jus dont know what vleaning supplies to buy and how to go about painitng. if anyone has any experience with this and have steps by steps please comment. or if there is a thread out there can someone post the link thanks!

get some purple power soak the shit out of that bay,get a long broom brush from home depot and lots of soap scrub like a mother fucker,then hit it with the garden hose

If you never painted before with a gun I wouldn't recommend Painting a bay off the rip. it's very easy to get off spray and runs in tight spaces. I've done quite a few. As far as cleaning b13 is on the money. I use purple power to clean greasy stuff all the time.

i detail,and ive seen some of the worst engine bays on some really nice cars

so when your bay needs to look spotless put fourth the effort and make it shine proper

I agree I became pretty good at it now. But I have seen some junky lookin bays because of the paint. It can make or break it in my opinion

yea with shaved and tucked bays,and you see a dark color bay with a light color exterior you can pretty much pick out the paint flaws..

ive seen people rattle can bays and you couldnt even tell because of the effort put into it, even buffed it when it was done looks amazing...but i agree purple power, or i buy this stuff called awesome from the dollar store for cheap, shit works miracles

yea,i put alot of effort into my wheels and they look proper not sand blasted or anything but a still looks good.it just depends on how or who is doing the job and how much effort you want

im gonna be doing a set of wheels over soon ratlle canned, youd never know if you take ur time, prep work is key in all paint work...wheels, bays, cars...etc...

I agree tha awesome stuff is what I'm usin to clean my bay it works amazing!!

ive seen people use wd40 and a soft brush on engine bays takes alot longer beacuse its just grease on grease and your doing all the cleaning power,but purple power is the best
