Gsr Leather Rears in Ek Hatch

so i have gsr rear leathers that i want to put into my 00 hatch..i kno about the gaps on the sides with the bottom piece...alot of ppl told me i have to swap the leather covers to the stock civic cushions..how much of a bitch is it to do this??? thanks
