How do you paint and prep polyurethane so it doesnt chip or crack.

wont chip if you prep it right, poly is a raw plastic material which means from factory it has no primer on it. best bet is to bring it to a reputable body shop and have them do it.There is a special primer to put over raw plastics which acts as an adhesive promoter. Base and clear over that and your good to go, wont chip or crack unless something hits it ex: rocks, cars, people, animals, and/or curbs.R.I.P Nick Haines
