I'm picking up a set of Recaro Speed's on Saturday and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to mount them in my 98 coupe. They come with EG/DC2 rails already mounted to them but I don't think those will bolt up to my car. From searching I also found that my stock rails will kind of work but only 3 bolts will go in and I'd really prefer to have all 4 bolts installed on my seats for safety reasons. I don't want to spend $160 for each side to get MemoryFab seat rails and I can't find any Recaro ones for sale that are cheaper then like $250 each. Is there anyway that I can modify my stock rails by adding an extension bracket or drilling out a bigger hole to get the 4th bolt to bolt in? I'd prefer not to have to buy new rails since money is tight after buying these seats so any help on how to be able to use my stock EK rails or the EG/DC2 rails that are coming with them would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone's ever installed them and just swapped their EK rails and got all 4 bolts to install properly and shows me how then I'll do that but so far from what I've read it won't work to get all 4 bolts in without drilling out part of the rail or making an extension bracket (which I'll do if I have to but I would love for it to be easy and to just be able to bolt the rails on and then bolt the seats down).1998 Civic DX

Like I said to Sean John I'm going to try it out on my passenger side first but I'm pretty skeptical that they'll just bolt right up based on what I read online.1998 Civic DX

Looks like it should be pretty easy to install then if the rails just bolt up and then the holes still line up with the Recaro's installed. I'm going to hopefully install them on Saturday when I get home (have to drive almost 2 hours to the other side of the state to get them but it's cheaper then buying them from Jersey and paying for shipping like the other set I was looking at) and after I get them installed I'll post some pictures in here. I think they should look pretty good in my black interior.
Here's some pictures of the seats the guy emailed to me. The driver's side one is in what looks to be mint condition and the only problem with the passenger side one is a few small tears but they are pretty small and not a big deal to me since I'm not going to be sitting in that seat. They aren't the greatest pictures since it's kind of dark but IMO the seats still look pretty damn nice for used seats. Here's the pics...

On a lighter note lol, if those are your seats they look really nice and are super clean looking except for the fading of them, unless that's just the lighting of the picture. They look good in the car.
The black ones were actually what I really wanted but these ones are pretty nice and a decent enough price that I don't mind getting the red ones instead of black ones like the black w/ red stitching ITR ones or the black w/ red stitching Speed seats (since the Speeds are identical to the ITR's basically except for where Recaro is printed).
Edit:
Does anyone know of a place around Colchester/Norwich/New London/or Willimantic that's good at detailing cars? I want to get my interior detailed and cleaned up professionally once I get the seats installed since they'll probably need some cleaning and the rest of my car wouldn't hurt to get detailed. I can travel anywhere from the shoreline to the top of the state as long as it's on the eastern side of the state but I'd prefer something closer to home that's why I said Colchester/Norwich/New London/or Willimantic (I'm up there 5 days a week for classes so I can go like after class or something if there's a place near there) first but if there's a good place somewhere else on the Eastern side of the state then I don't mind driving.Last edited by MJB23; 11-17-2010, 04:21 PM.1998 Civic DX
