wheel spacer trick/theory?

i was thinkin one of my crazy thoughts again the other day n i got curious so i thought id ask u guys here. i hope this is the right section.

i was thinkin...why not use a few washers on each lug to space out wheels? wouldnt this work just the same as a spacer w/o the cost?

#1 that wouldnt be safe at all and if you fuck up the offset its not gonna ride right.. i put my 25mm spacers on stock wheels for the hell of it and it wouldnt work

na its not a fail.. it really depends on the wheel but i have big spacers 25mm is alot but i needed it for my itr wheels to work because of the offset on them

oh, damn. i didnt catch the size before. thats a big spacer dude. that explains why it wouldnt work.

i wasnt thinkin of anything crazy though, maybe about .5" of washers maybe a lil less. id want the wheels to line up w the fenders

you actually can do that..it will work just like a regular spacer..we used to use them on our circle track cars..
the one thing is though..you have to have the same size washer on each lug..and the same amount on each lug..

agree it works i've done it on my old corolla when i put a retarted lip on the rears my offset as ~5mm off so i used highgrade washers bought a shit load and weighed them while putting them on so they all were the same weight (had to throw a couple out because weight was off)

anything 8mm spacers is pushing it on stock studs... washers still have a possibility to move around so i wouldnt suggest it. they dont cost much either i paid 20 for a pair. so yea NO to ghetto spacers.

wow ur buggin dont be cheap...i bought a set of 7mm wheels spacers for like 6 dollars each

You needed them because your itr's are made to go over brembo brakes.

i would think the complete opposite with the type r's on the rsx. how the hell does that work?
