  • ebay parts!!! how are they? i am finding out for myself!

This is my first atempt at reviewing anything. Hopefully it is helpful. I have
more parts waiting to go on so there will be updated (even if they are small
ones) and it will probably be about once a week untill i get the to do list one.

One of the most important things if your thinking of buying on eBay is to check the feedback of the seller!
Bad feedback is a good warning to stay away.

First of all i am not affiliated with any ebay seller and i have not done any
measurable tests on tany of the products i have purchased. I only intend to
share my experience with purchasing products on ebay for my coupe. I hope
this will give some info to help people decide whether or not they want to
risk their hard earned cash on an "ebay" part. I am not trying to sell anything
and if you are looking for scientific proof of quality i can not provide it. I will
include my own picture and a stock picture from ebay so people can identify
the items if they look for them. I made all pics thumbnails. You should be able
to click them to make them bigger. Sorry that some of the pics came out a
    little blurry.

THESE ARE JUST MY EXPERIENCES WITH THE PRODUCTS I HAVE PURCHASED
ON EBAY. I CAN NOT GAURANTEE THAT YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME
EXPERIENCES. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU MAY EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT
    RESULTS!

    1-Dropzone Coilovers and shocks.

    Seller: bigboybryant

    Price: $199.99 + Shipping: $49.99

    Pics:

I have been riding on this setup for about 2 months and i am happy with it
overall for the price. They do not make any strange noises and the ride is not
too harsh. I could go a lot lower but i am tucking tire and that is good
    enough for me right now.
I would prefer if the springs were a little stiffer. The softer spring rate helps
with ride quality but i would feel more comfortable going lower with stiffer
springs. These might allow bottoming out over bigger bumps if i was too low.
I am still wondering how long the shocks will last because they seem very
similar to the stock shocks. If i was going to do it over i would probably go
cheaper and just get the coilovers and some extended top hats for the stock
shocks. although if you need new shocks anyway these are a reasonably
    priced replacement.

2- DNA Motoring 2.5" stainless exhaust
    Seller: dnamotoring

    Price: $109.99 Free Shipping

    Pics:

Currently they only have a 2.25" system listed but mine is 2.5" I wasnt sure
what to expect with this but i am extremely impressed. This system fit like a
glove. All gaskets and bolts came with it so there is no reusing any stock
pieces. It doesnt rub on anything and tucks nicely into the factory location.
Without the silencer it is almost too loud (i also have no cat) but the silencer
keeps it under control. I assume the packing in the muffler will break down
over ime like with most "ebay" mufflers and the exhaust note will change.

3- CNT Racing 2.5" slip fit test pipe
    Seller: erzperformance

    Price $69.99 Free Shipping

    Pics:

The slip fit joints on this pipe are a little looser than i expected. When fully
compressed it seems to seal pretty well but if it was extended i feel that it
would leak and nees band clamps or to be welded. Otherwise it is a nice
piece for $20+ less than comparable pipes from bigger names. I was very
happy that it came with the donut gasket because they go for about $15 on
    their own.

    4- Yellow H4 Healdight Bulbs
    Seller: dnamotoring

    Price: $7.98 Free Shipping

    Pics:

These are light bulbs. They light up! I bough them because i had a high beam
out and could wait a few days because i could use my low beams and not
get pulled over. I did not want to spend the same amount per bulb at the
parts store. They work fine and i saved money.

5- CTR style urethane front lip
    Seller: endlosmotorsports

    Price: $36 Free Shipping

    Pics:

This Urethane Lip is a copy of the Type R lip. It fits well. There are some
rough edges on it from when they molded it but it only took about 5 minutes
to trim them. This was the least expensive lip i could get on ebay shipped to
my house. They sent it in a full size box so it was not bent or damaged. I
have seen nicer lips but for the price i would buy this again if i needed a new
    one.

    6- Rear Lower Control Arms
    Seller: dnamotoring

    Price: $75.99 Free Shipping

    Pics:

These are aluminum and definitely lighter than stock ones. The bushings are
known to go on any "ebay" lower control arms so i am expecting these to
wear out somewhat quickly. When they do i will replace them with blox
bushings (which also wear out) for about $16 or try to find a urethane
alternative. The fit was fine. Ran into no issues when installing. You can see
some marks from machining on the surface that was not smoothed out before
the anodizing but it's only noticeable close up.

7- Spoon Style Non Power Mirrors
    Seller: racing_gear

    Price: $33.99 Free Shipping

    Pics:

The mirror "glass" on these is not glass its more like plastic. They are a little
hard to see out of. I am getting used to it but i do wish it was a little nicer.
The construction and fit of the mirror is good. They hold the mirror position
well. I have been using these for about 3 months and thy are holding up just
    fine.

8- Front and Rear tow hooks
    Seller: watomiracing

    Price: $39.99 Free Shipping

    Pics:

these are pretty simple and would be hard to mess up badly. This specific set is thick
enough where i feel like they could actually be used to pull the car. The rear one has
the holes a little too far apart to fit in the factory tow hook without bending it somehow.
I wacked it with a hammer and got it bent so that i could install these. overall i cant see
how you can go wrong with getting tow hooks on ebay.

9- Sttering Wheel W/ Hub and Quick Release
    Seller: DNAMotoring
    Price: $49.99 free shipping
    Pics:

Do not use this Quick release. Quality is very poor. It works but i would not trust it.
The hub seems safe enough and works but the plastic trim that goes over it is too short and you can see the metal in between it and the steering column cover.
The wheel seems to be decent quality. If i were to do it over i would buy the cheap steering wheel for $25 and then get a real hub and quick release.

The smaller wheel is great for driving without power steering. the biggest drawback is that it blocks my vision of the gauge cluster a little bit.

Items i will be installing soon from ebay:
    Window vent visors
    Velocity stack
    Short Ram intake
i made a pixelcar for my sig but i'm too lazy to pm a moderator.

Haha. I would take it but no. I'm just trying to let people know how it went for me if they are thinking of buying stuff on there. I would have loved to find a thread like this b4 I started buying parts.

Thanks. I'm only going with name brand for engine components. Only track this car will see is the drag strip. And I can tell you now that review of the steering wheel w/ quick release won't be as positive as the others. I haven't put it on yet but I'm not too impressed already.

Mini update! Tow hooks came in today! And you can see the lip in the shot of the front hook.

This could almost serve as my buld thread.
Dont worry i have parts that didnt come from ebay.

^^ true. and if you do your homework before you just get click happy with the "buy it now" button you can usually avoid any huge nightmares.

Small update. Finally installed my steering wheel.

Also I would like to add that the parts have all held up well so far and i am not gentle on my car at all. For the cost I am still pretty impressed with what I have put together and how its coming along.

Still a long way to go on this project and its slow work because it is my daily.
