  • Weapon R intake, MAF sensor issues

Hey guys i have a question about a Weapon R intake that i recently bought for my 07 SI, i put it in my car yesterday afternoon and everything was running great. At about 5:00 last night my car started surging and then threw a check engine light for my MAF sensor. I know that the MAF sensor isnt bad because i put all of my OEM parts back in the car,so that i can drive it till i figure out whats going wrong. With the OEM parts the check engine light went away. I made sure that all of my clamps were tight so there couldnt have been any leaks. If anyone has any idea what could be going wrong or has a Weapon R intake and has experience the same issues please let me know what you did to fix it.

    Thanks

Certain intakes for those si's will throw a code, its messing up your a/f mix. Go back to stock before you do serious damage. Like above says save up for flashpro , or an intake that doesn't throw off your maf. I beleive the aem v2 and k&n intakes are two that don't throw off the maf

The stock air box is basically a cold air intake with chambers added for noise reduction. Adding a short ram will decrease power because of heat soak. I would go back to stock or grab a cai unless you value sound over performance
