  • What Block Can I Use? What Head Can I Use?

Hi Guys im new to this website and new to the almighty "k"..... i want to go k but evryone is goin k20... so i decided i wanted k24/k20... what head and what block can i use to make a monster???

i was thinking either a tsx or an accord k24 block

and a civic si head.... or should i use a rsx type-s head????

and as for the tranny i thought of the civic si since it comes with lsd!!!

so please guys guide me in the correct direction for i want to start a winter/spring porject!!!!

    thanks guys:cool:

Any K24 Block will do, but all K24's except the K24A1(CRV & Element), & K24A2(TSX) will require piston replacement to use a PRB(RSX S) or a RRB(06+ Si) Cylinder Heads. The K24A1 & K24A2 can just have the K20 Heads thrown on. Make sure you only use 02+ RSX type S or 06+ Si K20 Heads. The K20A3 from the RSX base & 02-05 Si only have VTEC on the Intake side. 06+ Si tranny is the better tranny, due to the LSD. I am doing the same swap, & I have a K24A1 w/High Comp. Pistons. Hope I was able to help.

Accord is the K24A4 & K24A8 depending on the year. They also have the Raised Quench area Pistons, & Would need to be replaced to run the K20A2, K20Z1, & K20Z3 heads.

1.the accord block (K24A4) need to change pistons it doesn't clear valve from the type s head...you can swap tsx piston or any others(aftermarket)

                  2.the CRV (K24A1) strait swap with type s heads>>>A2..Z1...Z3.

                  3.the tsx (K24A2) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^good choice....

4.element (K24A3.........same thing as option 1.......hope this help

the k24a2 (tsx ) is the best motor out there no need to change the head on that motor. now the regular 24's they deserve a some head!

hey i was going to post up in the for sale section.. i ended up taking in that k24 and am goign to be getting rid of it. it is the tsx one that you can bolt on a rsx head w/o changing pistons, or if you want i have the head also. it seems the motor has a stuck oil ring and i was going to go thru and re ring it before i sell it. so its up to you if your interested. i can rering it for you, or if you want to get aftermarket pistons i can install them for you. let me know if your interested
