  • k24a2 in 2004 accord?

I read it can be done but would need to run both the the accord ECU as well as the TSX ECU? Is it even worth it for a 40-50hp gain?

Better off spending the money towards a k20 head... best k series set up k24/k20 imo

k24a4 (accord motor) have low compression pistons (9.7:1) as oppose to the k24a2 compression 10.5:1.

I'd either replace the stock pistons and get the k20a2 head, or just get a k24a2 longblock

what this guy said. Cheap alterantive is to put tsx pistons into your a4 motor. That will give you the valve/piston clearance to allow you to put a type s head on it. And you'll make more power then a full a2.

You should be able to just send your ECU to hondata and have them install kpro. It comes with basemaps installed so you can limp your way to Dave's.

Hey all, thanks again for the advice.
Picking up the Kpro kit from K-tune in next couple months cost a lot more than expected. So have to save up a little bit more. 1820$
Called Dave's and he is a really cool dude. So looking at like 2500$ for this project. Thats about eats up all my spending $ for this year.

What would a ball part figure of getting:
                1.) Pistons installed?
                2.) Type S head install.

When I try searching forums people just say "a lot of money" "$$$" "better have deep pockets" which really doesnt help me budget to get the work done. haha.

                @Kerby
I cant send my ECU to Honda due to the fact that the ECU is locked down. That is kinda the reason why the kpro kit cost so much for my car because I have to get a Dual harness. Kinda sucks.

sell ur car outright, and put that $$ towards a REAL K build and shell. It'll be the best time of ur life.

True, the thought crossed my mind but then I thought of all the parts of the car what a pain it would be to resell them.

yea that is also true, but in the end ill will probably end up keeping this car. The resale value on parts is such a turn off haha. My headlights and fogs likes alone costed 800$ I will probally only see 1/2 back if im lucky.

So I will move forward with the K-pro this summer and then take the next step from there.

You know... for the amount of money your gonna be shelling out on this you might as well trade the car in for a TSX -- the Accord Type R with a k24 swap.
and it'll give you the 6spd transmission. just saying.
