  • Just bought 07 civic Si- I need tips for tuning.

I just bought an 07 civic Si. I need some tips to get some quick easy hp with out doing internals. Intake, headers, ecu tune? Also, if I want to turbo it, what kit is the best for reliability and won't blow a stock engine. And also won't fail emissions. Can I even turbo the motor safely with the k20 runnin 11.0:1 cp ratio? This is my first k series and I was always b series guy. I kinda lost on where to start. Idk what's out there that's good. Lmk CTV!! :)

i mean the sky is the limit if your wallet isnt ballin on a budget.
id do rbc header exhaust kpro with a tune for now, you'll pass emissions just fine
as far as turbo kits im not really sure whats a decent kit for k series just read some reviews. no ebay shit though.
      Honda sucks. Over priced junk.

FullRace for a turbo kit. ECU tuning has come along way from 1990 when piggybacks and running a low compression was the norm to prevent a blown motor.

It all comes down to how good the tuner is.

you gotta tell me what your goals are for me to tell you what your options are.

lol, whoever is saying get an rbc, clearly doesn't know the 07 si. The z3 comes with an rbc. You could do a lot to get power out of the car. Off hand, intake, a quality header (without cat), and exhaust will net at least 25 hp with a good tune. You can add a j35 tb, and an rrc intake manifold for a bit more. Finally, you can actually use tsx cams on the k20 head to net power and torque, with stock reliability. Let me know what info you'll need.

Si's come with rbc intake manifolds, so intake, header, and 3inch exhaust
                    Need flashpro asap tho

                    I got a 06 si myself

rrc intake manifold ... hondata intake manifold gasket ... race header (good company not some dc sport garbage) ... 3 inch exhaust .... and a flash pro .. that will give u around 225 to 230 whp and your car will move ... if u wanna make a lil more on top of that go with a set of blueprint stage 2+ cams and youll be around 240 to 245 ...

your gonna wanna get a stage 2 clutch and some mounts if you do this as well ... good luck bro!

ive had a few k series cars and ive done a ton of testing ... this is your best bang for your buck and your car will still be very reliable

A lot has changed since this thread was first made so just wanted to put some updates:

if you're going for intakes, get a 3.5" intake from importdps...it made the most power and comes right around the same price as an injen or whatever.

If you're going n/a, stick with RDX injectors, bigger injectors tend to have startup/ crank issues that need to be tuned out and with the really big injectors (ID1000s) sometimes you can't even tune it out.

You should get a dyno tune and street tune to make the most power and to ensure the best reliability. Dyno from evans and street tune from e-tunez.

3" exhausts makes the most peak power, but you lose some torque, better off staying 65-70mm, def don't get anything smaller.

RSX oil pump swaps are pretty cheap and free up some power and will allow your motor to rev higher (assuming you have cams first)

IPS makes the best cams, hands down. Junk2 cams are only good for peak numbers, and the rest have had reliability issues or issues with their cams being poorly grinded.
