Gl with the help I would say try the headlight fluid but then that would be wrong cause headlights don't run on gas nd bog out a 3k

If the crank sensor is bad it is sending a message to the ECU to tell it to nit fire due to incorrect crank position.

Chance the crank position sensor and you should be fine unless the engine jumped time (which on K series is hard to do because it is a timing CHAIN)

The random misfire code is because of the crank sensor and the crank sensor code is causing the car to run in limp mode.

Once again mahmoud.. The car is in limp mode. Change the CPS, unplug the battery and reset the ecu and youll be 100% ..

Make sure to call acura and get that radio code tho.

I have only seen one K series that jumped timing. Acura had a recall TSB about the tensioners when the RSX came out. Most cars have the upgraded tensioners.


9/10 times when a CPS code is thrown the sensor is bad anyways.

I agree with dave on checking timing but i would get a crank sensor anyways.

bingo. there's a reason companies make upgraded tensioners, because the factory ones can go bad, especially with aftermarket cams.

K motors have weak chain tensioner but when the go bad they normally make a chattering noise due to the chain having a little slack. I doubt thAt the timing is off tho.

Did you hear any noise before the car started running like crap?

And you stated earlier that the car ran FINE . Revved past 3K etc with the Check engine light on CPS code thrown.

The timing could have jumped but eliminate smallest factors first.

Gradually the car started running on limp mode.

Check timing if the timing is ok get a new sensor ..

I can almost bet that if the old owner of that car had taken care of it routinely, the TSB for the weak tensioner would have already been addressed and you would have never had to know about it.
