  • motor mount ?'s ekk1 or ekk2

    whats the diffrence in the ekk1 mounts and the ekk2 mounts
    i am swapping the k24 into my ek coupe. whats the best choice and what will work because on k-tuned.com they say the ekk1 are for ek subframes and the ekk2 are for eg subframes??? need help asap

    it positions the motor differ. but like it says you have to use a eg sub frame. a lot of ppl use the eg sub frames. Google is your friend. Remember that.

                  yes you want to use ekk2 mounts. ekk1 mounts position the motor to close to the front of the car and an rbc barely fits. also ekk2 give better axle angle. yes you need an eg subframe on your ek to use the ekk2s and it bolts right up! hybrid racing sells a good set of ekk2s

                    Well i am in the process of doing the same swap i went with the ekk2 mounts from hybridracing.com, it gives way more clearance for your intake manifold and all that good stuff.

                      use the ekk2 mounts .. i had both .. the ekk2 push the motor back a lil more so you have more room to run a full size radiator and any intake manifold .. plus they axle angle is much better ... the ekk1 have little clearance to the radiator support and the axle angle is horrible
