  • help: F23 won't rev past 4k

    Car: 98 Acura CL
    Engine: F23 vtec (all stock)

Issue: as i am driving my car and i reach 4000 revolutions per minute the car cuts off! It doesnt turn off it just goes down to like a little below 1k rpm. The car drives but wont pass 4k. Also from 1k-4k it feels like it doesn't have the same power it use to have. Can any of you help me out? Or share if this.has happened to you

Make sure all the sensors are plugged in and the injectors are clipped all the way

you are so not gonna believe me.... but change the oil. I had an accord in the shop do this to me, threw a code, and via identifix it showed over 50 confirmed fixes of oil change.

I changed the oil and the bitch revved out.

Check ur oil level, but normally it just cuts the vtec engagement. Might be ur ckf sensor. Sound like a ckf sensor

It the same engine setup as an accord and i drove a 98 accord for 2 yrs as a daily, i used to change the oil in that pos when vtec disengaged while driving cuz it did use a moderate amount of oil for how hard i drove it. I got about 3200 miles out of it before vtec would cut out while driving. that was my sign. No i didnt give a shit about that car. I never once had that issue ur having fro low oil level. U can try a quick nig rig version of a ckf bypass and rule it out, But i would deff start there.
