  • f23 wont start

So I had a huge oil leak back in Jan 2008 due to a loose O ring. Now months later my 98 accord LX wont start. Im not getting a spark and one of my spark plugs are filled with oil. Now I thought it was my distrubtor but I replaced everything inside it as well as the entire distributor altogether. After so many headaches and going ALL over the internet, my friend told me the crank position sensor may not be working due to the oil leak from before.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions if this is possible?

I have seen where people take the Timing covers off for whatever reason & not clip the Wires of the Crank Sensor back into the lower timing cover, which will leave the wires of the sensor hanging in the breeze & will contact one of the Drive Belts which will eventually burn through the insulation & eventually the copper wire it self. If that has happened, the Car will not start. Also Check & see if your immobilizer(Little Green light that looks like a Key) light is flashing or does self check & go off? I have also seen a couple bad ECU's cause this problem. Check the Cranks Sensor Wires & Immobilizer Light & Get back to us.

Well its not the Ignition switch I replaced that a year ago. Also I checked it with a diff ECU and it still dosent work. Green light works fine. Let me give a little back story to help

Before the car stopped working it was starting to sputter and when in idle the tacht would jump from 900rpm to 500rpm. Then one day I start my car it starts I leave it one to warm up and it just died and dosent turn back on.

dat sounds like a distributor problem....check all connectors and make sure all the pins are pushed in...had a similar problem on my h22....
