  • advice on F22 single cam boosted

Hey ctv I can use some advice. I been doing research on boosting an f22b1 since that's what I want to get done before summer hits. Now I've seen vids and read forums about this, but it seems like the b2 non vtec are better for boosting. I dnt see the difference other than no vtec lobe so less parts moving less risk of something breaking. I'm gonna be running stock internals for now since I'm trying to get my own place I dnt have cash to build right now. Any advice would help. On and I've seen these run 10psi on stock internals with no problems at least the non vtec motors.

dont run anything high then 8psi. they hold boost good, but the sleeves suck. i got the same motor in my accord

The b2 are supposedly easier to tune but you shouldn't have a problem with boosting your car at 8 psi with stock internals. Our motors can handle up to 12 psi on stock internals with a good tune, given that the motor is in good condition. and the sleeves are actually what is the strong part of the motor in F22s since they are made of iron.

I am also looking to boost my F22B1 Accord and want to go 8 psi with a good tune. It's not my daily but I still want a reliable set up. Not sure what your budget is but Threadstone makes a good turbo kit for our cars. And in the end, it's all about how well it's tuned.

Yea i saw that kit but its a bit more than I want to spend I'm looking to spend 1500 a bolt right up kit cause the tune is gonna be like 400 on top of that. And I really dnt want to replace vtec for no vtec my first vtec coupe I want to enjoy it lol

I wouldn't worry about the Vtec part guys... As long as you have a good tuner, he will know how to work with it.

I saw an almost new eBay kit on b20 for $400 and was kind of tempted to buy it but then again, you get what you pay for so I'll wait until my money gets up.

I took a while deciding whether I should boost or go H and for the money, boost gives you much more power.

If you get a logics manifold....I think that's what they're called forgive me if I'm wrong but with those manifolds u can keep ur pws ac.
